In view of the prevailing extraordinary circumstances of the worldwide spread of COVID-19 and the countrywide lockdown, and in view of the queries raised by Parents and students, CBSE has issued press release regarding the academic future of students.
Below are the guidelines by CBSE:
- All students studying in classes 1 to 8 may be promoted to the next class/grade.
- All students studying in classes 9 & 11 may be promoted to the next class/grade on the basis of all the school-based assessments including project work, periodic tests, term exams, etc. conducted so far. For any child who is unable to clear this internal process, (in any number of subjects), the school may utilize this period for providing remedial interventions, and school may give the opportunity of appearing in school-based test/s, online or offline. The promotion of such children may be decided on the basis of such tests.
- The Board will give notice of about 10 days to all before starting the Board examinations of Classes 10 & 12.
Keeping in mind the threat of Coronavirus outbreak, most of the CBSE schools in the country have started online classes. CBSE has also advised teachers to immediately send projects, assignments, activities and e-content to children through an online medium so that they can utilize them in maximum.
The existing situation has created an opportunity for a country like India, where good quality education is still a challenge, to promote digital classroom. It will help all the students’ community to get educated from top class teachers all over India.
Let’s make India – a high quality education hub.
